DAP told to state stand on hudud and quit Pakatan
DAP should make its stand clear on hudud law and also leave Pakatan Rakyat to defend the integrity of the country’s secular system, said MCA Youth chief Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong.
DAP was paying lip service by claiming it disagreed with the implementation of hudud law, he added.
Dr Wee said hardline policies were slowly being implemented in the four Pakatan states that the party administered together with PAS.
“PAS President Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang has adamantly repeated the party’s stand to implement hudud law in Kelantan.
“DAP should be aware that once hudud is implemented in Kelantan, there will be significant impact and threats on the Chinese community there as well as for other Malaysians everywhere,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Dr Wee said DAP was making itself feel good by holding onto the dreams and goals of the Orange Book or Buku Jingga.
“If PAS sincerely agrees with the goals set out in the Buku Jingga, they will not continuously cry out for the implementation of hudud law.
“DAP is unwilling to face this political reality but will willingly pay any price, including helping PAS to take charge of the country as well as to protect their positions in the government,” he said.
